A child was killed and three other people suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police.

BRUCE TOWNSHIP, MI — Police now believe alcohol may have played a role in a Thanksgiving Day crash that killed a child and injured multiple others in Macomb County.
The crash happened at 5:20 p.m. last Thursday on M-53 (Van Dyke Highway) and Ebeling Road in Bruce Township, according to police.
Investigators said the driver of a 2011 Chevy Impala was moving south on M-53 with his two young children when he crossed into the northbound lanes and smashed head-on with a 2013 Chevy Impala.
One car was able to swerve out of the way, but the one behind it, a 2013 Chevy, was struck head-on, police said.
The 5-year-old girl inside the Impala was killed in the crash. Police initially said the girl was 3-years-old.
The 2-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he continues to recover, police said.
